These suppressors feature reliable ESD protection up to 30kV, bidirectional protection, low leakage current, and long-term ESD stability. Applications for EPCOS / TDK CTVS Multilayer Varistors include industrial, building safety and security, power supplies, control and measurement equipment, and hard disk drives. The CTVS series is RoHS compatible, lead free, and approved to UL 1449 standards. Spice simulation models are available. The CT types with nickel barrier terminations (AgNiSn) are ideal for lead-free soldering and compatible with tin/lead solder. CN types with silver-platinum termination (AgPt) are for reflow and wave soldering with solder on tin/lead basis or lead-free with a silver-containing solder.
