Synchronous Buck Controller: TPS40197 The Texas Instruments TPS40197 synchronous buck controller implements voltage-mode control architecture with the switching frequency fixed at 520 kHz. This TI device's higher switching frequency allows for the use of smaller inductor and output capacitors and leads to a compact power-supply solution. The TPS40197 includes an adaptive anti-cross conduction scheme that prevents shoot through current in the power FETs. The controller is designed specifically for TI DSP cores that use the Smart Reflex™ Voltage Identification scheme.
