Original MC4 solar connector.

MC4 connectors are single contact electrical connectors commonly used to connect solar panels.

MC in MC4 denotes the manufacturer Multi-Contact (now Stäubli Electrical Connectors), and 4 - a contact with a diameter of 4 mm.

MC4 connectors allow you to easily create panel runs by manually pressing connectors from adjacent panels, but require a disconnect tool to prevent them from accidentally disconnecting while pulling cables.

MC4 and its compatible products are now universal in the solar market, equipping almost all solar panels manufactured since approximately 2011.

A set of serial connectors (+) and (-), used for photovoltaic installations, to connect panels in series.
