In the case of photovoltaic connectors, the most important thing is that their parameters are stable during the 25 years of operation of the installation. The minimal and time-stable contact resistance of MC4 connectors guarantees maximum financial profit thanks to minimal energy losses, no service interruptions and failures, and fire safety. The connector contacts are made of tinned copper, which, unlike silver-plated copper, ensures a lower rate of electrochemical corrosion both in the connection of plugs and in the connection of tinned wires crimped on the connectors.
The design of the new MC4 EVO2 connectors enables operation at a voltage of 1500 V and the transmission of much higher currents (for a 4 mm² cable - 45 A). Multi-Contact has obtained the following certificates for connectors: UL, TüV, IP68 1h/1m tightness, resistance to salts in the air and to ammonia gas. The connectors can be connected to wires with cross-sections of 2.5, 4, 6, 10 mm². FLEX SOL EVO TX solar cables meet the latest EN 50618 standard and, thanks to good quality copper, ensure minimal voltage drops. They are characterized by very good mechanical, chemical and environmental parameters. They are covered with a flame-retardant substance.
