    Description
    PTCEL High Energy PTC Thermistors Vishay / BC Components PTCEL High Energy PTC Thermistors are designed with dense bulk ceramic pellets capable of absorbing high energy levels up to 300J, higher than previous PTC thermistors. The thermistors are suitable for controlled charging and discharging high-energy capacitors with voltage levels up to 1200VDC. The PTCEL series offers over 100,000 inrush-power cycles and a high resistance against 25kW max non-switching peak power. The thermistors feature self-protecting characteristics that will prevent any overheating or overloading of the component and limit the current in the circuit to a safe low level. The PTCEL High Energy series is AEC-Q200 qualified and ideal for AC/DC and DC/DC converters, energy dump and DC-Link circuits, on-board chargers (OBC), battery charging equipment, and other applications. The PTCEL is through-hole mounted to the PCB and can be either wave-soldered or PIP-reflow soldered.
