In vehicles equipped with extensive on-board computers, replacing the standard filament bulb with an LED replacement with several times lower power consumption current may cause a message to appear on the on-board computer informing about a burned out bulb. The solution is to use a resistor that acts as an artificial load, tricking the computer. Please remember that this type of filter heats up to high temperatures during operation. It is best to install it in the immediate vicinity of other metal/aluminum elements in the headlight area, to which the resistor will also be able to transfer temperature.
