This IC consists of a voltage reference unit, an error amplifier, resistors for setting output voltage, a short current limit circuit, a chip enable circuit, and so on. The RP114x features a minimum input voltage of 1.4V and an output voltage, which can be set from 0.8V to 3.6V (in 0.1V steps). The output voltage of this IC is internally fixed. This IC performs with low dropout voltage due to a built-in transistor with low ON resistance. A low supply current and a chip-enable function prolong the battery life of each system. The ripple rejection, line transient response, and load transient response of the Nisshinbo RP114x are excellent. This feature makes this IC very suitable as a power supply for hand-held communication equipment.
