CLAW CLUTCH GE-T 24-32Application:

The jaw clutch consists of two hubs with claws and an elastomeric insert separating the hubs. This structure ensures damping of torsional vibrations, thermal and electrical insulation, and uninterrupted operation even after the insert is destroyed. Moreover, the flexibility of the insert allows compensation for assembly errors of the connected shafts. The hardness of the insert translates directly into the rated torque of the clutch. The type of insert material is selected according to the operating conditions of the clutch. The ability to compensate for shaft deviations can be extended by using two elastomer inserts separated by a spacer insert. This procedure lengthens the clutch and doubles its flexibility. The result is the so-called double-cardanic clutch.

Depending on the type and size, dog clutches are made of steel, aluminum alloys, plastics and cast iron.
