The metal lock provides a positive tactile click ensuring the connector is fully engaged for a complete electrical and mechanical connection. The lock is centered on the housing to avoid uneven locking and cable entanglement, which can occur with side locks. The DF50 housings are constructed with thicker and more robust walls to prevent cracking. The long insertion depth and blade contacts prevent damage against wrenching forces. High contact reliability is achieved with gold plating and a long effective mating length. Contacts are securely held in place even when high forces are applied to the cable through a robust and reliable lance structure.
