The PRV safety valve is built into the reducer and automatically protects the receiving device against high pressure in the installation. Such pressure may be created, for example, by heating the reducer or other parts of the installation with sunlight or another heat source. In the event of increased pressure at the reducer output, the PRV valve in the reducer opens automatically and releases the excess pressure to the outside (to the atmosphere). After blowing out, the valve closes and the reducer starts working at nominal pressure. Reducers with a PRV valve should be used wherever they are exposed to the installation being heated by changing weather conditions. Reducers are marked with the PRV symbol on the rating plate.
