In accordance with applicable regulations, a UTB maintenance log is necessary for ongoing documentation of the operation of devices subject to technical supervision, min. such as:
cranes,
rear loading sides,
hook and gantry hoists,
overhead cranes,
lifting trucks (forklifts),
escalators,
devices for disabled people,
cranes, cranes,
conveyors etc.
The substantive content of the Maintenance Journal is regularly consulted with the Office of Technical Inspection and updated in accordance with current changes in the provisions on technical inspection. The first edition was published in 2001 under the title "Lifting device maintenance journal".
REGULATION OF THE MINISTER OF ECONOMY, LABOR AND SOCIAL POLICY of October 29, 2003.
on the technical conditions of technical supervision in the scope of the operation of certain handling equipment specifies the technical conditions of technical supervision in the scope of the operation of the following handling equipment:
1) winches and hoists,
2) overhead cranes,
3) cranes,
4) stacker cranes,
5) freight statements,
6) movable platforms,
7) devices for disabled people,
8) escalators and moving walkways,
9) cabin and platform circular conveyors,
10) cranes, in particular for transporting people or loads, construction cranes and small goods cranes,
11) lino-track cranes,
12) technical devices used to move containers during reloading works,
13) lifting devices designed to move loads non-straightforward, including car parking systems,
14) forklift trucks with mechanical lifting drive – hereinafter referred to as "UTB".
The regulation imposes, at least in paragraph 11, on the operator of the 'UTB' the obligation to establish and maintain a Maintenance Journal.
In the UTB Maintenance Log, the Conservator records the activities performed, such as:
mandatory maintenance,
reviews,
device repairs.
The Maintenance Log is checked by the Office of Technical Inspection during periodic inspection of the device, as well as during any other type of inspection, such as ad hoc inspection or post-accident inspection.
