Cabin filter with activated carbon F K1146A
Anti-pollen filters with activated carbon are a unique group of filters.
The filter partition is made of two outer layers of synthetic non-woven fabric, capable of retaining solid particles and aerosols with the effectiveness of standard anti-pollen filters.
The additional third layer of the filter partition placed inside the nonwoven layers is activated carbon granulate, which cleanses the flowing air from harmful gases.
Activated carbon has a porous structure similar to graphite. It attracts harmful gases to its surface thanks to the phenomenon of adsorption. The specific surface area of one gram of activated carbon reaches up to 900 m2, so the amount of retained gases may be very large.
Practically, the amount of activated carbon contained in the filters allows the elimination of approximately 90% of harmful gases such as ozone, hydrocarbons, sulfur and nitrogen compounds over the entire period of filter operation.
Cabin filters
The cabin filter cleans the air that passengers and the driver breathe in the car cabin. It should be replaced at least once a year or every 15,000 km.
The cabin filter retains micro-particles of dust, pollen and many microorganisms. These particles can be microscopically small - their diameter can be up to 7 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. Filters equipped with a layer of activated carbon additionally neutralize unpleasant odors.
Inhaling polluted air has a negative impact on our health and may lead to lung and circulatory system diseases.
