BMV-712 Smart battery monitor with built-in Bluetooth.
BMV-712 Smart battery monitor with built-in Bluetooth.
The Bluetooth module inside the BMV-712 Smart battery monitor enables wireless communication of devices in the monitored system, which facilitates the installation of the system and increases its efficiency.
Why should your battery be monitored?
Batteries and single batteries are used for many applications, mainly to store energy for later use. How can you check how much energy is stored in the battery bank?
No one can tell just by looking at the battery.
Battery technology is often greatly simplified, and in order to enjoy the long life of our expensive batteries, basic knowledge about batteries and good monitoring and control of their operation are necessary. Battery life depends on many factors. The service life is shortened by: undercharging, overcharging, too deep discharging, too fast discharging and too high ambient temperature. By monitoring/controlling your battery with an advanced battery monitor such as BMV, we will get very important feedback so that we can take preventive measures, if necessary, to save our battery. Thanks to this, by extending the life of the battery pack, the cost of purchasing the BMV will pay off very quickly.
Multifunctional device for monitoring the battery charge status BMV-712 Smart by Victron Energy
BMV-712 Smart is a system of advanced microprocessor control of the battery charge status combined with a voltage, charging and discharging current measurement system.
BMV-712 Smart has an advanced algorithmic function, such as Puekert's formula, which determines the exact state of battery charge. BMV–712 Smart selectively displays battery voltage, current, ampere-hours consumed and the time remaining until the battery is fully discharged. In addition to basic parameters such as voltage, current and the number of ampere-hours consumed, the BMV-712 Smart battery monitor series displays the charge indicator, time to discharge (at a given load) and power consumption in watts.
Basic features of the BMV-712 Smart
battery monitor measurement of: current battery voltage, charging current, battery discharge status at the current current consumption and battery charge status
possibility to program visual and audible alarms
programmable relay for switching off less important loads in order to protect the battery against excessive discharge or to start the generator in if necessary
high resolution: 10mA (0.01A) with 500A shunt
easy connection: BMV-712 Smart is supplied with a shunt, a 10m UTP RJ12 cable and a 2-meter battery connection cable with a built-in fuse. No additional equipment is needed.
possibility to connect a shunt up to 10,000 A
communication via VE.Direct cable or wirelessly (built-in Bluetooth)
storing a lot of archival information that can be used to assess the life and condition of battery banks
wide input voltage range: 9.5 – 90 V
low current consumption: 2.9 Ah per month (4 mA) @ 12 V and 2.2 Ah per month (3 mA) @ 24V
Quick and easy installation
The BMV-712 Smart set includes: control panel, shunt, connection set.
The BMV-712 Smart battery monitor is connected using a UTP cable with an RJ12 ending to the shunt to which we attach the battery cables.
