Intake valve URSUS URSUS C, MF AD3.152 ParadowscIntake valve URSUS URSUS C, MF AD3.152 Paradowscy PURS001 (39x7.9x114.3) 99F070 Engine valves are located in the head or in the engine block and are responsible for controlling the air flow in diesel engines, or fuel-air mixture in spark ignition engines. The intake valves control the air intake process, while the exhaust valves are responsible for removing exhaust gases from the cylinders. Operation of valves under high thermal and mechanical loads combined with the corrosive effect of exhaust gases causes their wear. The valves may also be damaged due to the timing belt breaking, which leads to the pistons colliding with the valves. Damage to valves causes loss of tightness and loss of compression. The need to check the condition of the valves is indicated by increased oil consumption, loss of power and uneven operation of the engine, as well as the appearance of a characteristic cloud of exhaust gases when starting the engine. Some valve damages may not only destroy the valve system, but also cause engine failure, so the symptoms listed should not be ignored.
