RTMSS (Super-MSS) cores from Micrometals Arnold Powder Cores Cores (silicon, iron, aluminum) designed to replace powdered iron cores in applications operating in the frequency range of 25kHz - 500kHz while maintaining high stability of parameters during operation. RTMSSs have up to 10x lower losses (lower operating temperature) in the core and up to 5x higher cut-off frequency in relation to powder cores. It is therefore possible to achieve higher power with the same choke dimensions or to miniaturize the converter (operate at a higher frequency). Super-MSS cores are an excellent solution for filtering and energy storage inductors in switching power supplies.
