It is very important to break in each drive belt, especially when your Polaris receives a brand new drive belt from the HD line, which is not the cheapest one.

How to break in a drive belt?

There are many guides on this topic, and Internet forum users outdo each other in the number of ways. The most persistent ones put the vehicle on stands so that it works under minimal load, and in this way they wear the belt for many hours. The nature of our work, constant queues to our website and the schedule of rallies mean that we never have time for such fun. However, we have a simple and relatively quick way to break in the belt.

How do we do it?

We install a new belt, first checking the condition of the clutches and cleaning them with compressed air.

Then we start our RZR, rev it up and after letting off the gas, we check whether the drive belt has stopped. If this happened, everything is OK, so it's time for a little cruising. We drive about 40-50 km on quiet suburban roads without sudden acceleration or braking. Just drive calmly at different speeds to allow the belt to lie on the clutch plates. At the end of this distance we start to accelerate a little more. Then, at the very end of running-in, press the "pedal to the metal" several times and it's ready. The belt has already been run in and from now on we can enjoy our RZR 100%. Your belt will surely thank you for this long run-in with many kilometers of trouble-free driving.
