INA186/INA186-Q1 Current Shunt Monitor Texas Instruments INA186/INA186-Q1 Current Shunt Monitor is a bidirectional, low-power, voltage-output, current-sense amplifier (also called a current-shunt monitor). This device is commonly used for overcurrent protection, precision current measurement for system optimization, or in closed-loop feedback circuits. The INA186/INA186-Q1 can sense drops across shunts at common-mode voltages from –0.2V to +40V, independent of the supply voltage. Five fixed gain options are available: 25V/V, 50V/V, 100V/V, 200V/V, or 500V/V. The low input bias current of the INA186/INA186-Q1 permits larger current-sense resistors, thus providing accurate current measurements in the microamp range. The zero-drift architecture's low offset voltage extends the current measurement's dynamic range. This feature allows for smaller sense resistors with lower power loss while providing accurate current measurements. The Texas Instruments INA186-Q1 devices are AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.
