The sensor has a float with a magnet and a reed switch in the body.

The sensor has 2 wires. Depending on the mounting direction, they will be shorted in the upper or lower position of the float.

The operation is very simple: when the liquid level is below the float, it is in the lower position, i.e. the output is shorted, the water level rising by the force of buoyancy lifts the float (the output is opened).

If we need the opposite action, i.e. shorting the output in the upper position of the float, simply mount it the other way around - as in the drawing below
