The components are available in protective metallic, plastic, or stainless steel and maintain integrity amid extreme changes in pressure. A hydrophobic/oleophobic membrane keeps liquids, oils, and moisture out while reducing condensation in sealed enclosures. The protective vents can also prevent heat dissipation of electronic components from shortening device service life and affecting component performance. Applications include industrial/farm automation, outdoor broadband wireless access, LED lighting, IP closed-circuit TV/security, renewable energy, marine electronics, and hybrid electric vehicles.
