SAM4N ARM Cortex-M4 Based MCUs Microchip SAM4N ARM Cortex-M4 Based MCUs are a member of a family of Flash microcontrollers based on the high-performance 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M4 RISC processor. It operates at a maximum speed of 100MHz and features up to 1024Kbytes of Flash and up to 80Kbytes of SRAM. The peripheral set includes 3x USARTs, 4x UARTs, 3x TWIs, 1x SPI, as well as 1 PWM timer, 2x three-channel general-purpose 16-bit timers (with stepper motor and quadrature decoder logic support), an RTC, a 10-bit ADC (up to 12-bit with digital averaging) and a 10-bit DAC with an internal voltage reference. The SAM4N device is a medium-range general-purpose microcontroller with the best ratio in terms of reduced power consumption, processing power, and peripheral set. This enables the SAM4N to sustain a wide range of applications including industrial automation and M2M (machine-to-machine), energy metering, consumer and appliance, building, and home control.
