These Samtec connectors feature standard and low insertion force contacts with 0.35' square tails for PC/104 applications. The ESQ connectors follow the base PC/104 standard that defines a compact form factor and can be used in self-stacking buses. This eliminates the cost and bulk of backplanes and card cages. The PC/104 specification is accepted as the 'base document' for the IEEE draft standard called the P996.1 standard for Compact Embedded-PC modules. This PC/104 standard expands upon the existing PC bus, allowing companies to embed PC technology in limited-space applications.
